ameliaearharts:

all my friends are dead → a mix for Delenn, as she stands at the graves of almost everyone she’s ever known [for melancthe, who wanted a B5 death mix; and for Jess, who wanted anything B5]

pink floyd : wish you were here [so you think you can tell heaven from hell] She hears about G’Kar’s death weeks after it happens; she has not seen him in years, but it is decades before she no longer feels his absence in the universe.
nightwish : turn loose the mermaids [here weary traveler, rest your wand] Delenn presses her hand to the cryo chamber and closes her eyes, wishing Marcus a safe journey; her fingers rub frost away from the glass and he almost looks happy.
florence + the machine : shake it out (unplugged acoustic) [and every demon wants his pound of flesh] They aren’t allowed on Centauri Prime for the funeral, but it’s broadcast on ISN; she stands through the whole procession, stoic with John beside her as Londo’s final journey plays out on the small vid screen.
the clockwork dolls : a safe rest [close your eyes, my dear one, and rest your head beside me] She knows when John’s gone, though it will be hours before anyone knows for certain; there’s a sudden heavy emptiness inside her heart and she wishes he had let her witness his last moments.
emilie autumn : across the sky [take no answer but the one you find] She excuses herself upon finding his name buried in a report, a name amongst many, casualties of war; she breathes in the crisp air and prays that Lennier found peace at last.
greg laswell : comes and goes (in waves) [this one’s for the faithless, the ones that are surprised] The others have left, and she stands alone at the headstone on the hill overlooking Tuzanor; loneliness settles around her shoulders as she whispers her goodbyes to Susan.
mark isham : safe now [instrumental]  They watch from a distance as the station explodes and what hasn’t been home for years, but always felt like it, disintegrates in a brilliant flash; her eyes burn from the brightness, but she keeps them open, needing to watch as the remains of Babylon 5 scatter across the night.
cirque du soleil : quidam [the world is yours not mine, quidam, my dreams are yours] She lives longer than she’d expected, but even Delenn is not immune to death; she takes her last breath and hopes the universe understands itself better, now.

fuckyeahb5:

greensquidkosh:

I got my brother hooked on the tv show Babylon 5.

It took 3 episodes.

If you are reading this, tumblr-goer, consider this challenge:

I dare you to watch the first three episodes of Babylon 5.

Only three?

You misspelled ‘seasons’.

From a librarian: Please tag your hate.

Hi, I’m a librarian and I want to improve Tumblr with these words: Please DO tag your hate.

I know tags are places, spaces, communities—but tags are also subjects, topics, indexes of content. If your hate is about a particular show or ship, please tag it accordingly. When I learn about a new show by looking in its tag, I can learn more if I see the hate and the love together.

What if none of the books about how much Hitler sucked could be found by looking up “Hitler” because the authors and librarians had all respectfully avoided using his name?

What if you were trying to decide whether to buy a toaster online and you could only see positive reviews on the product page, and you had to work harder to see the ones that say “it sucked at first, but then it was awesome for three whole years and then it was not as good but still pretty good”? Okay that was Babylon 5 not a toaster but whatever.

My point is, if your post is about how Babylon 5 sucks, please tag it “Babylon 5” and the fans will do the same with their posts about how awesome it is, and people will actually be exposed to varying opinions. And that’s a very good thing. Unlike stupid Homestuck, which, really, who cares.
